Upcoming Events in the Neighborhood: Pi(e) Day Celebration

Every year, I look forward to Pi Day on March 14. Who doesn’t love pie? Or math?

The last two years, however, I have appreciated a new Pi(e) Day tradition: going to the annual community Pi(e) Day event. There, I enjoy eating slices from a variety of pies baked by community members and entered in the Pi(e) Day Contest. Last year, the St. Anthony Park Branch Library Association’s (SAPBLA) own chair was the winner (I can attest: it was a delicious Mediterranean quiche and well deserved the victory).

This year I have volunteered to organize the celebration. For the first time, we are starting a new junior’s division of the contest for our bakers that are 18 years or younger. Therefore–our divisions for the contest are: Sweet, Savory, and Juniors. Please let me know if you are interested in submitting your pie in the contest or have any questions about the event.
