Rosemary Gin Fizz
A refreshing herb drink to enjoy with friends in the last month of summer.
Please note: you can easily substitute in a zero-proof gin to enjoy the taste and avoid alcohol.
Ingredients:
- Water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- Rosemary sprigs (2 plus as many cocktails as you are making)
- Gin (optional: substitute zero-proof gin)
- Egg whites (1 egg per 2 cocktails); or substitute with pasteurized egg whites (like “Egg Beaters”) if you prefer a pasteurized product
- Fresh lemon juice (2oz per 2 cocktails)
- Ice
Equipment:
- Oven
- Saucepan
- Container for simple syrup
- Boston shaker
- Glasses
Directions:
Step 1: Pre-make rosemary simple syrup
A. Place the ingredients into saucepan:

- ½ cup water
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 sprigs rosemary
B. Bring simple syrup ingredients to low boil for 3-5 minutes.
C. Allow to cool.
Step 2: Make Cocktails (makes 2)
A. Assemble ingredients:

- 4 oz gin (spirit-free gin works great here)
- 1 egg white (egg beaters work if you prefer a pasteurized product)
- 2 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1 ½ oz rosemary simple syrup
- Rosemary sprig for garnish
B. Combine all ingredients in Boston shaker with ice.
C. Shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds.
D. Strain into 2 coupe or small martin glasses.
E. Garnish with fresh rosemary sprig.
