Firm News: 2025 North Star Lawyer
According to the Minnesota Rules of Professional Conduct, “Every lawyer has a professional responsibility to provide legal services to those unable to pay. A lawyer should aspire to render at least 50 hours of pro bono publico legal services per year.” (Rule 6.1 Voluntary Pro Bono Publico Service)
The Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) asks attorneys to disclose annually whether they have reached this goal. Those that do provide 50 hours in the last year are designated “North Star Lawyers”. I’m pleased to say that I was able to achieve my 50 hours in 2025. The MSBA is honoring those attorneys in the June edition of Bench & Bar, its monthly periodical. In the past, I have obtained this designation in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2024.
